Rory McIlroy has done far more generous things than this - take for example donating £1 million towards the construction of the Daisy Lodge centre in Co. Down which offers therapeutic services to children affected by cancer.

Still, this is a nice gesture from McIlroy towards a fan on Facebook.

Responding to a post on the Northern Irishman's Facebook page, Barry Edwards wondered if McIlroy might have an old driver laying around which could take a place in his bag.

The response from McIlroy's page was swift and positive.
