In light of the never-ending controversy over what country Rory McIlroy will play for at Rio 2016, people looking for some sign of McSwoosh's Olympic intentions will have been severely disappointed by the first photo of him unveiled in Nike gear this afternoon. McIlroy sports a pea-green polo shirt with a bold red stripe by the buttons and white trim on the sleeves, which gives succour to both constituencies. In a way, it's reimagining of the tricolour, swapping out the orange for the red of St. George's flag and adding in a darker green.

Slow news hour? Maybe, but it's hard to believe McIlroy just donned any old golf shirt for this photo shoot.
