The 2024 Masters has been tough going for Shane Lowry, with the Offaly man failing sitting in a tie for 36th place heading into his final round on three over par, 13 shots off Scottie Scheffler's lead

While traditionally a course like Augusta National would suit the accurate style of golf Lowry plays, the weather in Georgia has played havoc with his and others rounds, keeping the scoring low and the mistakes plentiful.

The first round of the tournament saw a delay of two and a half hours due to inclement weather, and though the conditions have improved since then, they've left the course playing hard with the current leading score of seven under remaining unchanged since the opening round.

Currently, Lowry sits 13 shots behind that lead at six over, having posted a first-round 73, second-round 74 and a third-round 75. While the poor conditions have seen other golfers and their moods collapse, Lowry remained as funny as ever quipping hilarious jokes in his post-round interviews.

Referring to the swirling winds that all the competitors have been talking about and have been visible on TV over the weekend, Shane Lowry cracked an absolute gem when he was asked about how it impacted his put on the tenth hole.

Lowry was paired alongside J.T Potson and 22-year-old American golfer Akshay Bhatia who was making his Masters debut for the Thursday and Friday rounds. While Bhatia is relatively new to the major scene, the tall, 59kg golfer fell victim to a traditional Lowry slagging at the end of their second round.

Yeah the wind is just blowing.

I can't imagine what it was doing to poor Akshay. It was blowing me around the place. He nearly got blown away.

Yeah, the wind is just - to be honest, the hardest part out there is putting. I find anyway. The hardest part out there is to hole putts.

While the poor weather may have ended Lowry's hopes of donning the Green Jacket this year, at least it hasn't killed his wicked sense of humour.

For all the wind and the tough putting, it wasn't all bad from Lowry who still managed to hole out from 118 yards with this amazing shot.
