Shane Lowry had himself a hell of an afternoon at Wentworth yesterday.

Entering the final round of the BMW PGA Championship two shots off the lead, there was very chance the the Irishman would be in contention for his tournament win since The Open in 2019.

What followed was 18 holes of exquisite golf, carding an unblemished card of 65 to eventually take the trophy home with a shot to spare. In fact, the Offaly native would not card a single bogey over the course of the week.

It was certainly not a stress-free victory for Shane Lowry.

While he put in a brilliant performance in the final round, some of his competitors were equally impressive.

Holding a two-shot advantage over Rory McIlroy after his birdie on the 18th, it left the Holywood native requiring an eagle on the final hole in order to force a play-off. He would come within inches of landing it.

It was tense finish, as you can see from his reaction in the aftermath of the tournament's conclusion.
