There was a bit of controversy last night after somebody in the crowd threw a Tricolour onto Rory McIlroy as he went to sign his scorecard. A security guard immediately brushed the flag away. It's unclear if the fan was an Irish person making a political statement or a Yank making a statement of ignorance. Either way, McIlroy was not draped in green, white and gold orange during his celebrations.
