Sky Sports made the unusual decision of booking Rory McIlroy to make an appearance on Goals on Sunday yesterday. It worked out well for football pundit and supplier of comic relief Chris Kamara who got a free lesson from the world number one live on the show.
The show's producers attempts to embarrass their employee proved to be in vain as McIlroy seemed genuinely impressed by Kamara's swing, although he picked out some major flaws in his follow-through. As McIlroy put it, "he'll probably hit a lot of slices".
However, a compliment from one of the best golfers in the world, no matter how back-handed clearly put a spring in the broadcaster's step, and hopefully a few extra yardage on his drive. You can see by the end of the video that Kamara looks like he physically can't wipe the smirk off his face.
