Hold the white smoke. Fresh from his appointment as the new pope of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis is due to line up in the Gabriel Curran Memorial Madrid Handicap at the Curragh on Sunday. His form figures read well since his new appointment and the Racing Post believe he has only got one to beat.

It looks like the O'Brien team have a link into the Vatican and knew about his appointment a couple of years back. #nonsense
