Congratulations to AP McCoy who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award at Sunday evening's BBC Sports Personality Of The Year awards in Belfast.
The legendary jockey received a standing ovation and was visibly moved as he delivered his speech, where he paid a lovely compliment to Rory McIlory before taking time out to thank the horses that he rode to so many victories.
McCoy also had a message for any youngsters in attendance or watching from home who have dreams of one day becoming a professional athlete, and that message was straight to the point:
Finally, to any young people watching tonight's show, or here this evening, all that I can say is;
Make the sacrifice. It's worth it.
Great advice from a great competitor.
McCoy's reception was as good as anyone's on the night, showing just how highly regarded he is by sports fans across the UK and Ireland.
