The UFC has been thrown into quite a bit of turmoil after the events last Sunday involving UFC Champion Jon Jones. The light heavyweight champion was involved in a hit and run incident in Albuquerque, for which he has subsequently been arrested.

It is alleged that Jones was involved in a hit and run incident which resulted in injuries to a pregnant woman and if found guilty, he faces up to three years in jail.

Despite initially releasing a statement saying nothing would change for Jones and UFC 187, the UFC have now decided to suspend Jones indefinitely and strip him of his title. The light heavyweight title will now be on the line as recent challenger Daniel Cormier replaces Jones in taking on Anthony Johnson in UFC 187 on May 23rd.

UFC President Dana White appeared on Fox Sports Live to confirm the news that Jones has been suspended indefinitely.
