In the main event at Bellator 153 on Friday night, Benson Henderson took on Andrey Koreshkov for the welterweight title.

Henderson's last fight was in November at a UFC Fight Night in Seoul where he defeated Jorge Masvidal by split decision.

In February, with his UFC contract expired, Henderson announced that he was signing with Bellator. He cited the ability to have his own sponsors rather than have this income restricted by being required to wear a Reebok uniform in the UFC as one of the main reasons for his decision.

Henderson's Bellator debut did not go as he would have hoped. In a fight which went the distance, Henderson lost to the reigning 170 lb champion Koreshkov by unanimous decision.

The Russian certain impressed UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
