Luke Rockhold went into his first title defence of his middleweight belt as heavy favourite against Michael Bisping at UFC 199 last night.

He would not last the first round.

With just 3:30 elapsed, the British fighter rocked the American with a right-hand to the body and then a left which sent the champion backwards and to the canvas.

Moments later the fight was over when referee John McCarthy stepped in to call a halt.

Bisping, who took the fight on just two weeks' notice following an injury to Rockhold's original opponent Chris Weidman, becomes the first ever British fighter to hold a UFC title.
