We originally came across this back in June ahead of UFC 189 but with his ascent to becoming a UFC champion now complete, it's only right that we revisit where he came from. It's not a great lesson to be teaching but sometimes keyboard warriors hiding behind a username really do have something to say in real life.
Conor McGregor is one of the biggest names in all of mixed martial arts, and one of the main faces of the UFC, and while most casual fans of the sport would not have known who he was as recently as 18 months ago, back in 2011 the man himself knew he was destined for the top.
Credit is also due for a number Boards.ie users who also shared the vision, and some who were even accused of jumping on the bandwagon... In 2011.
We stumbled upon an account that we were told belonged to Conor McGregor, and with 8 posts on the website, all in the MMA sub-forum and all responding to call-outs, it appears to be legitimate. That means that this post must go down as one of the best in the history of Boards:
