Yesterday's Sunday World carried a story on the 'celeb lifestyle' on David Byrne - the criminal who was murdered at the Regency Hotel shooting on February 5th.

Byrne was a known associate of the Kinahan crime gang.

The story featured a shot of Byrne getting a selfie with Conor McGregor at a UFC Fight Night.

The pair would have known each other from Crumlin Boxing Club, where at one point they both trained. They were also neighbours according to the paper.

Speaking to the Herald, Philip Sutcliffe - a coach with the boxing club - clarified that Byrne and McGregor simply had a 'club relationship' - nothing more.

They were in the boxing club together and they would have had a club relationship and then they went different ways and David would have went supporting Conor and watching him do his stuff.

I’d say it’s just a selfie. How many of us would get a selfie with Conor McGregor when they get the chance?
