Conor McGregor Is Making Sure Everyone Knows Just How Ready He Is For UFC 197

Whenever Conor McGregor has actually tipped the scales at 145lb, he has looked unhealthy to say the least. The man himself has been quoted as saying that 'the weight cut is the fight' during the build up to UFC 189. Every time the featherweight champ has stepped on the scales, the magnifying glasses come out to see if he's gone too far this time, if he'll be at his peak when it comes to fight night.

We've looked into this before and this picture at the weigh in for his fight against Dennis Siver may well have been the low point of the McGregor health scale.

The ability to get down to 145 from a walking around weight that is probably closer to 170 has been McGregor's biggest challenge in the UFC to date. That's not so much of a problem anymore and McGregor is letting everyone know just how good it feels to be in a camp that doesn't have a gruelling weight waiting around the corner.

We're less than seven weeks away from UFC 197 and McGregor is bulking and he wants to make sure everyone knows it. He's always fairly open on social media but you have to think there's a reason behind a couple of his recent posts. Rafael dos Anjos, if you think you're going to have a size advantage on March 5th, think again.

Throw in a picture of featherweight McGregor and stand beside fellow lightweight Peter Queally and you can really see just how much bulking the Dubliner is undergoing at the moment.

If Queally acted as a nice counterpoint in that picture then his latest prop is somewhat more ostentatious. He's back Stateside and he's making the most of all the opportunities available to him. But when he says 'two tanks' he's really not exaggerating.

Even without a weighing scales on hand, it's fairly easy to see that he's currently walking around at an awful lot more than 155lb. The decrease won't be anywhere near as drastic as it has been for his previous UFC bouts which means at this stage of the build up it's all about putting on the extra mass and when you consider it's little more than a month since he fought Jose Aldo, it's fair to say he's doing a rather good job of it.
