On his latest podcast, Joe Rogan called Conor McGregor 'the best shit talker ever'. The UFC commentator was speaking about the Dubliner's ability to wind up opponents and you have to think that McGregor's latest comments could be thrown in there also.

Speaking at one of the Q&A events with fans in Dublin recently, McGregor revealed the severity of a his knee injury in the build up to what was then a title fight against Jose Aldo at UFC 189. There had been talk of a recurrence of the ACL injury that he picked up against Max Holloway but when that talk died down, we assumed that any injury was a minor one.

Not so according to the interim featherweight champion.

Fourteen weeks before the fight I tore 80 percent of my ACL. I could barely walk. I could barely kick.

As we all know by now, Aldo didn't make that fight owing to a rib injury but, in what way well be a tactic to wind up the Brazilian even more, McGregor has explained how he fought through injury to defeat Aldo's replacement, Chad Mendes.

I have a lot of experience coming back from that injury. I was aware of my body, and I was aware of my balance. I have a good team around me, and I trusted everyone that was there. That’s how I performed. I train with people that I am safe with and that would allow me to get to that fight.

I had a lot of adversity to overcome but honestly, I went into that fight and beat Chad on one leg, and now that I have gone through that adversity, I feel I have gained three new legs.

That is an extremely serious injury to come back from in that period of time and we're sure to hear a few more mentions of it before McGregor takes on Aldo at UFC 194 on December 12th.
