Well, that escalated quickly.

Daniel Cormier submitted Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson in the second round of their UFC light heavyweight title fight at UFC 210, but the show was stolen by the surreal sequence of events that followed the fight.

Cormier locked in a rear naked choke after Johnson, much to the surprise of everyone, initiated the wrestling from a standing position.

Anthony Johnson was first to talk to Joe Rogan post-fight, and he teared up as he announced his immediate retirement, to the shock of everyone in attendance.

In the prime of his career, Johnson is going to take a job away from MMA, and have some hilarious reasons for being finished with the sport.

Cormier then did his WWE heel attempt after being booed by the crowd, and went on to tell Jimi Manuwa who was sitting cage-side to slow his role. Jon Jones was then brought in on the act, as Rogan asked the question as to whether Cormier's next fight would be against the returning former pound-for-pound number one.

If the UFC don't want to reward Jones with an immediate title shot, then Manuwa is next in line with Gustafsson and Teixeira already tied up to fight in Stockholm next month.
