After all the jibing that has been going on between Floyd Mayweather and Ronda Rousey, Mayweather has come out with a quote that's so touching and nice that at first we presumed it had to be fake.
But no, this comes straight from Fight Hype, the mouthpiece of the man himself. Following Rousey's defeat to Holly Holm at the week, Mayweather told journalist Ben Thompson:
I want Ronda Rousey to hold her head up high and don't let this discourage you. If you need help as far as with boxing, I'm here to help you. It's all about timing and inches. Her ground game is unbelievable. She'll be okay.
The world champion boxer even went as far as to say he is 'proud' of her.
I'm not sure what Rousey will make of this. To be honest, when I first read it I thought 'Wow, this is actually very genuine,' to which our boxing aficionado Gavan Casey replied 'No. Nothing he ever says is genuine.'
And when you consider this from Sunday morning, it's hard to take Mayweather too seriously.
