Conor McGregor's coach John Kavanagh appeared on the Joe Rogan podcast today to pick the bones over UFC 229. Kavanagh was honest and upfront about the fight, giving listeners an insight into McGregor's gameplan to beat Khabib and also his thoughts on the post fight melee.
Another noteworthy takeaway from the interview was the revelation by Kavanagh that a three part documentary is set to be released on Netflix about Conor McGregor.
The content of the documentary supposedly surrounds McGregor's sparring match with Paulie Malignaggi in the run up to his fight with Floyd Mayweather:
I think there's something being released on Netflix soon, a documentary based around that fight, and it will have all the rounds.
As far as Im aware, I did an interview for it recently it's a three part documentary that's going to be on Netflix soon, so people will be able to make up their own minds about it.
Kavanagh admitted that when McGregor stepped into the ring with Malignaggi, a former world champion, he was nervous as to the outcome:
That night when he went into the ring with Paul, what's gonna happen here? Is he just gonna get tooled and we have to scratch our heads and go 'shit what are we gonna do here'.
No doubt the doc will make for fascinating viewing and hopefully we'll get a release date soon.
