It turns out it's not just Conor McGregor who predicts these things...

With the UFC gearing up for it's first every event in New York City at UFC 205, where Conor McGregor will have the chance to make history by becoming the first fighter to hold belts in two weight-classes concurrently, a good omen has popped up on social media.

Hats off to SevereMMA's Seán Sheehan who spotted this, as an Instagram post from McGregor this week has seen a promise made by his coach fulfilled in just over three years.

And here is McGregor's post after arriving in New York:

It seems a tad too perfect to be a coincidence that McGregor's picture looks so similar to the one his coach took, but it's still very, very cool nonetheless.

It hammers home just how far McGregor, and indeed the UFC have come in recent years, as some thought we would never see the organisation run a card in The Big Apple. Not John Kavanagh though, clearly, and if you told him that "one day" would actually be in three years time, he probably wouldn't have been surprised.
