It is said that precision beats power and timing beats speed - and apparently this is a lesson that John Kavanagh learned for himself when he came face to face with Ryan Tubridy today at the SBG Ireland facility in Dublin.
To be fair, Tubridy does have a significant height and reach advantage over Kavanagh and he definitely made the most of it.
The duo were warming up for Kavanagh's appearance on the Late Late Show this coming Friday and it is always an interesting experience when mixed martial arts is discussed in the mainstream media in Ireland. To be fair, both Tubridy and the Late Late Show have always been relatively balanced when discussing the sport and it has been more the like of Joe Duffy (and sections of his listeners), Tom McGurk and co. who have put forth their moral outrage at any given opportunity.
It will be interesting to see which direction Kavanagh's interview goes later this week.
