Donegal's Joseph Duffy is considered one of the top prospects in MMA at 155 pounds, having recorded a number of impressive wins during his 13 fight career, including victories over Norman Parke (who will also be appearing on the upcoming UFC card in Boston) and The Notorious Conor McGregor. Duffy was in fact the last person to defeat McGregor before his meteoric rise to the top of the sport, and now the UFC appear to have finally secured a deal with Cage Warriors for his fighting contract.

Details of the deal are still unclear, although it believed to be a multiple fight deal that is worth more than most standard entry-level UFC contracts. TheScore.ie broke the story, which has since been confirmed by Joseph Duffy on twitter, so while we eagerly await further details, it's time to get excited about a fantastic Irish MMA prospect getting a chance to shine on the sport's greatest stage.

Duffy made his return to return to MMA recently after a successful seven fight stint as a professional boxer, and even though his twitter handle is still @DuffyBoxing, we can't wait to see him enter the octagon and fly the flag for Ireland.
