Khabib Responds Furiously To 'Freak Show' UFC After Losing Out On Title Shot To McGregor

Undefeated lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov has not taken news of Conor McGregor's lightweight title shot at UFC 205 well.

The beast from the east is currently ranked No. 1 in the UFC's 155-pound division and holds a blemishless 23-0 record, and so you can understand how he might be frustrated at being bypassed by McGregor for a shot at the crown, considering the McGreogr has never fought at 155 in the UFC.

Nurmagomedov, a Russian of Avar descent, took to Twitter to claim he was "used" by the organisation in order to make the UFC 205 headline act between lightweight champion Alvarez and featherweight champion McGregor.

Having previously tweeted that McGregor would not be fighting Alvarez in New York, UFC president Dana White told UFC Tonight last week that the UFC had issued Eddie Alvarez a prospective agreement to fight Nurmagomedov at UFC 205. Alvarez reportedly didn't sign the bout agreement by a specified deadline, so the UFC issued a second bout agreement for him to fight Nurmagomedov at UFC 206 in Toronto in December.

Instead, both the Philly fighter and the UFC opted for the more lucrative bout with 'The Notorious'.

Khabib continued his assault against the organisation earlier this morning on Instagram:

At that time, when I signed the contract with the ufc it was still a sport, right now it turned into a show, or as it is called I do not know, the only thing that keeps me going in this crest of the so-called sport - this is what I do not want to stop halfway, that I was not taught, I continue to go InshaAllah. For When I of a signed Agreement with UFC it was sport. Now it became a freak show, or I do not know how to call it right. Only thing that keeping me in this cracking sport, is that I do not want to stop on the halfway, I was not raised like this, not a quitter. I'll keep moving forward InshaAllah.

Considered one of the most formidable fighters in MMA, it's hardly unfathomable why the former multiple-time Combat Sambo World Champion would be frustrated at being overlooked by both Alvarez and the UFC, but his title shot will likely arrive directly after November 12th at Madison Square Garden, against either man.
