UFC commentator Mike Goldberg will apparently work his final event this weekend at UFC 207 in Las Vegas's T-Mobile Arena.

The news was first reported by ENTImports.com and subsequently backed up by Luke Thomas of website MMA Fighting.

Rumours regarding Goldberg's departure from the UFC began earlier this month when Eddie Bravo let slip on Joe Rogan's Fight Companion broadcast for the Ultimate Fight finale that the promotion had plans to cut the commentator.

Following this, Dana White said that he was looking to assemble his dream commentating team.

This has been my dream to assemble this dream team of commentating and I’ve wanted this guy for years and I’m working on it and it’s going to happen.

That combo will more than likely feature Joe Rogan who has signed a new one-year deal with the UFC.

Who the other half of that dream team will be is uncertain but Chael Sonnen has said previously that it could be broadcaster Jim Rome.

Goldberg has been commentating for the UFC since 1997 and has worked with Joe Rogan for the past 14 years.

Despite becoming known as the voice of the UFC, Goldberg was viewed by many as a poor commentator, one unable to effectively describe the action in the Octagon. And also one often incapable of pronouncing fighters' names.
