Conor McGregor's Influence Has Reached The World Of College Football

At Fight Night Dublin in the summer 2014, after he defeated Diego Brandao, Conor McGregor declared to the crowd - regarding the Irish in the UFC - 'We're not here to take part, we're here to take over'.

McGregor has uttered many quotable lines during his time in the UFC, but that might just be his most memorable.

In fact, it has even come to the attention of Nick Saban, coach of the University of Alabama team who last night won the national championship in a classic game against Clemson.

In the semi-finals of the college football playoffs, Alabama played Michigan State, easily winning 38-0.

After last night's victory, one TV reporter revealed that prior to the win against Michigan State Nick Saban has quoted McGregor's line from that night in Dublin 18 months ago.

Just before their game against Michigan State, Nick Saban's message to his team - borrowing a line from UFC champions Conor McGregor - was 'We didn't come here to take part, we came here to take over'.
