Conor McGregor may consider Ronda Rousey to be his equal on the UFC landscape in terms of popularity and quality but Dana White is not quite so diplomatic.

White has gone one step further to say that 'Rowdy' Rousey has blown McGregor out of the water in the race to become the UFC's biggest star star.

Speaking to UFC Tonight, White ensured there was no doubt about who he viewed as the promotion's shining light.

It's Ronda Rousey, there's no doubt about it. She's got books and all of these movies coming out and she continues to get bigger and bigger. And her pay-per-views, everything. There has never been a bigger star than Ronda Rousey.

McGregor is currently at the top of the pile in the box office stakes with over a million people tuning in to watch him scorch Chad Mendes in the UFC 189 card in July after just two rounds.

However, Rousey's PPV pull coupled with her mainstream appeal has pushed her past McGregor in White's estimation. Rousey grossed an astonishing 900,000 pay per view buys on the night she dusted off Bethe Correia in 34 seconds at the beginning of August.

It's Rousey's appeal outside the Octagon that gives her the edge on McGregor. Media outlets are constantly in pursuit and her face adorns magazines the world over. And now she has just landed a lead role in a remake of the 80's action film 'Road House.'

We're already expecting McGregor to land a role in the next Bond film just to ensure he keeps pushing Rousey for that top spot.
