The Daily Mail Reach Peak Daily Mail With Story Of Ronda Rousey's Lowest Point

Ah, the Daily Mail. The newspaper has done a good job in making itself unpopular among influential British figures and anyone with a vague sense of morality. As a quick example, here are two of the people they have alienated:

How can one not be fond of something that the Daily Mail despises? - Stephen Fry

The Daily Mail is worse than the redtops because it has this semblance of respectability. To me the Daily Mail is like a used car salesman in a cheap suit because it masquerades as having this respectability about it and yet it peddles the same kind of hate-mongering [as] the redtops. - Steve Coogan

Coogan said those words back in 2011, and nothing has changed since judging by this article about Ronda Rousey.

The article attempts to balance sensitive and introspective comments by Rousey along with their standard voyeuristic, lecherous, objectifying, ogling and judgemental shite.

The article reported Rousey's extraordinarily frank comments in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres regarding her shock defeat to Holm:

I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second I’m like, ''I’m nothing, what do I do anymore and no one gives a shit about me anymore without this.

To be honest I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.

The article then quoted Rousey's comments in response to accusations that she was not in good enough shape ahead of the fight:

I think the one thing that was different was that it was my third title fight in nine months and I don't think anyone has ever attempted that before.

Incredibly, the piece then led directly into this:

Ronda, who looked every inch the knockout in a short beige dress with a plunging neckline, also revealed that her first contact with Holly completely knocked her off her feet, leaving her struggling to regain any kind of dominance over her opponent.

The loosest of segues. The piece then dutifully reports she posed nude in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and includes photographs of the magazine cover along with paparazzi photos of her with her partner.
