Tyson Fury: Conor McGregor Has Copied My Trash-Talking Style

I think he copied me in everything he does.

Boxing heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury is backing Conor McGregor to beat Jose Aldo in UFC 194, because he thinks that the Dubliner has copied Fury's style.

Speaking on MMA hour in a highly entertaining interview - Fury was bullish about his opinions on MMA, McGregor's style, and the co-main event in the most anticipated UFC event in history.

Fury was adamant that McGregor copied the boxer's style because he saw it working for Fury. Fury's proof?

I was the first trash-talker big time in these shores, in Britain & Ireland. Then all of a sudden, he starts copying me. I grew a big beard, he grows a big beard. I talk bullshit about everybody, he starts talking bullshit about everybody. So, if it worked for the heavyweight champion of the world, it must work for Conor McGregor - some guy who is like 140 pounds, or whatever he is.

Despite this though, Fury IS a fan of McGregor saying:

No, I am a fan of his, but he's copied my style. I've got to admire him for it.

Fury even went on to say that McGregor's attitude was the reason that the heavyweight champion got interested in MMA, and wanted to check on the results - this despite dismissing MMA as a sport "for people who can't box", and saying that it's not really entertaining unless the fighters "stand up and punch each other".

That said though, Fury will be tuning in for his second McGregor fight against Aldo - after watching the bout against Mendes. Even after accusing McGregor of copying him, somehow Fury sees similarities in the pair and compares the co-main event at UFC 194 with his bout with Klitschko. Both Aldo and Klitschko were long-time champions, McGregor has a similar style to Fury, and can the Notorious pull it off?

I'm living proof that it can be done.
