As has become tradition in the aftermath of a Conor McGregor fight, SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh appeared on Ariel Helwani's The MMA Hour to discuss the fallout of the Irishman's victory over Nate Diaz in Las Vegas last weekend.

Kavanagh has cultivated a reputation for himself as one of the more interesting people in mixed martial arts, so any insight he gives into the fighting style or tactics of his star student always makes for a fascinating listen.

And for the Nate Diaz fight last weekend, Kavanagh outlined just how big a task McGregor faced against the Californian and a (frankly hilarious) verbal exchange between himself and Diaz midway through the fourth round.

Listen to both stories below:

Brilliant stuff. It's fascinating to hear Kavanagh so openly praise Diaz in this manner and really lifts the veils on the undoubtable respect that exists between both camps.

What will be even more interesting is to see what happens when both Diaz and McGregor inevitably face each other for a third time.

You can watch the full interview via the YouTube player beneath this. Also appearing on the show are Irish journalist Petesy Carroll and Conor McGregor's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu coach Dillon Danis. Kavanagh appears just after the three hour mark.
