A chorus of boos greed the official announcement that Gegard Mousasi had defeated Chris Weidman via TKO in the second round of the co-main event of UFC 210.

Weidman won the first round as he landed four takedowns on the Dutchman who threatened in the stand-up, and Mousasi would continue to find joy as both men came out for the second.

Mid-way through the Round, Mousasi landed two knees on Weidman that saw referee Dan Miragliotta intervene as he believed the second strike to be an illegal blow. Replays shows that it was perfectly legal, so Weidman should not have been given the five minutes to recover that he was granted.

Devastating knees, and more damage to the exact spot where Yoel Romero brutally ended their fight back in November.

However the fight would not continue as doctors entered the ring to examine Weidman and called a stop to the fight. Word got back to Miragliotta that the strikes were legal, and Mousasi was declared the winner much to the disgust of almost everyone in attendance.

Joe Rogan explained the situation to both fighters in their post-fight interviews, and made it clear that Mousasi did nothing wrong and deserved his win. The Dutch fighter felt the fight could have continued, and was not impressed at the handling of the incident.

Rogan also hung Miagliotta out to dry by making it very clear that the blame lied with him, as he informed Weidman that he had no cause for complaint.

A frustrating end to what had been a very enjoyable fight.
