Disallowed Goal Controversy

There has been significant controversy this morning over a disallowed goal in The Championship. Lee Mason's disallowed Callum Wilson's goal for Bournemouth in a vital match for both teams. The player, standing on the edge of the box, had the Cardiff keeper's clearance hit off him before bouncing off the bar before Wilson knocked it in. The decision was significant, instead of leading the Championship, Bournemouth are now outside the automatic qualification spots.

Speaking afterwords, manager Eddie Howe was not happy;

Callum did that all night. He didn't move, didn't follow the keeper, he held his ground and by the laws of the game that is perfectly acceptable. It's a goal that should have stood."

It is unclear as to what rules Mason deems Wilson to have broken, he is not in the box and is not crowding the keeper. It appears to be yet another case of a goalkeeper being afforded far too much protection. It was him who made an error, not Wilson, and he who should suffer the consequences.

We would be absolutely sick if we were Bournemouth fans, nevermind if they miss out on automatic promotion by two points or less.
