Nick Diaz is box office. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but, even though he hasn't actually won a fight in over three years, he's still a big enough draw to top a pay-per-view card. Granted, Anderson Silva's return to the Octagon was an important factor in that, but, even if it's just to trot him out for fights like this, it's difficult to imagine the UFC letting Diaz out to pasture anytime soon.
Diaz took every opportunity to taunt the Brazilian, but ultimately lost in a unanimous decision with the scorecards reading 50-45, 50-45, and 49-46 all to Silva.
But Diaz was nonetheless as entertaining as ever. Never more so than in the first round when he took the uniquely Nick Diaz decision to have a lie down in front of the Brazilian great.
