UFC or WWE? Brock Lesnar Has Reached A Decision On His Future
By Mikey Traynor

Both the UFC and WWE organisations have been eagerly awaiting news on the future of Brock Lesnar in recent weeks as the former UFC heavyweight champion (and current WWE heavyweight champion) came to a crossroads in his career. Both compaines made lucrative offers to Lesnar, but now he has finally picked a side and made his decision.

After much media speculation over the past few weeks, Brock Lesnar has revealed that he will not be returning to the UFC and has signed a new contract with the WWE to continue as their heavyweight champion going forward.

Lesnar admitted that he had been training for a return to MMA, but after considering his options he has decided to close the door on his MMA career and fully commit to professional wrestling.

My legacy in the Octagon is over, it was a hard decision to make. It took me a year. At the end of the day, it’s all about me wanting to have fun … For the last two months, I’ve been training to get back in the Octagon and felt physically great, but something lacked mentally. And that’s not good.

I’m officially closing the door on MMA.

It appears as though Lesnar's posturing for a new contract has worked in his favour, after it be came apparent that Vince McMahon gave him a contract offer he couldn't refuse, but genuine talks with Dana White were held over the prospect of a return to the UFC, with a rematch against Frank Mir slated as a possible first fight back with the organisation.

UFC president Dana White has expressed his happiness for Brock over reaching a decision on his future:

I’m happy for him — he was always a stand up guy. I knew this three hours ago, he called us and let us know. From what I understand, Vince made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, which is awesome. I’m happy to hear that, happy for both of them. This is a sport where you have to be all in, like Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo. Brock had a really good stint here, did some amazing things, and it was fin to have him.

He just couldn't resist the plug for McGregor v Aldo. Can you blame him?
