The weather and Conor McGregor's fans, those are the things Jose Aldo did not like about Ireland. Apart from that though, he enjoyed his time in Dublin.

Speaking to MMA Fighting, Aldo said:

Ireland was really cold and windy, so that was bad. About the fans, I already knew they would support him, like when fans were on my side in Brazil.

But I walked in the streets and spoke with normal people and thought the Irish people was very warm and receptive. I was happy about it - not about his fans, obviously.

If there's a rematch, McGregor should definitely push for it to be held around January in Donegal.

Speaking about the disrespect he received from fans at the Convention Centre in Dublin, the Brazilian was dismissive. He also dismissed the Irishman nabbing his belt during the press conference as simply being part of the hype and promotion.

There's no such thing about being the champion with a fan. I was in his country and we knew they would support him. I'm cool about that. I believe my fans recognise my work and respect me.

That's nothing for me. That's business, promotion. We hype it so the money invested by the UFC in this tour will be back again with the fight.

The featherweight title holder also said that the Dubliner would "disappear" as a rival once he beats him in July.
