The sporting summer is in full flow at the moment with the Lions tour and the GAA championship the primary competitions grabbing peoples attention. But what are you meant to do during the week in the quiet moments when there's an absence of games? We have put together a list of 5 great sporting documentaries that are relevant to action at the moment. These are perfect for a wasting an afternoon at work.



With Jose Mourinho coming back to the Premier League, what better time to take a look at the ITV documentary that charts his career thus far. You get good contributions from the man himself but also from Alex Ferguson. You get an interesting insight into one of the most polarizing managers in the world.

 A Year Til Sunday


This is the perfect documentary to whet your GAA appetitie this week. This fly on the wall documentary was the first of its kind in the GAA and gave you unprecedented access into the dressing room of an intercounty team. You get to know the Galway players over the course of the season and see firsthand how a manager takes a group of underachievers to the promised land.


More Than A Game


Lebron James is currently playing in the NBA finals with the Miami Heat so what better time to revisit his days as a high school phenom. "More Than A Game" follows James and his four best friends on their quest to win a high school basketball championship. It's scary to see Lebron then while knowing what he will become.

Not really that topical, just a good documentary. Six quarterbacks were taken in the 2000 NFL draft before Tom Brady. Tom Brady has been arguably the best quarterback over the last ten years while the ones chosen ahead of him mostly faded into obscurity.
