The Irish Takeover is set to continue this weekend as Donegal fighter Joseph Duffy takes on Jake Lindsey at UFC 185 in Dallas, Texas.

Duffy is of course most famous for being the last fighter to defeat Conor McGregor, before the 'Notorious' set off on his meteoric rise to UFC stardom, but some MMA fans don't know much else about him, and we are here to fix that.

Normally a fighter in the second preliminary fight of a UFC card wouldn't get anywhere near the attention that Joseph Duffy has before the fight, however, the Irish UFC invasion as well as his victory over McGregor brings with it a certain degree of pressure. Let's hope Joe can put all that to one side and go out and get a convincing win this weekend.

Here is everything you need to know about Ireland's latest UFC debutant Joseph Duffy.

His background is in boxing.

The reason Joseph Duffy has had to wait for his UFC debut is because he took a break from the sport to focus on boxing. In that time he notched up a 7-0 record with the heavy gloves, so he was definitely successful, but he missed MMA and now he want's to make up for lost time.

He made an appearance on season 12 of the The Ultimate Fighter.

Duffy lost his elimination fight to get into the house via rear-naked-choke, had he won, he could have been coached on the show by Georges St.Pierre... Or, eh, Josh Koscheck.

Represent.

He's recently moved to train with one of Canada's biggest gyms.

Duffy normally operates out of the MMA Clinic in London, but he has recently moved to Montreal to train with the prestigious Tristar gym, who boast a number of top talents such as Rory McDonald who will fight Robbie Lawlor for the welterweight title on the same night that Conor McGregor takes on Jose Aldo.

He didn't spent very long thinking up his nickname.

Joseph "Irish Joe" Duffy isn't exactly knocking on the door of our best nicknames in MMA ranking, but at least it's better than Joseph "The Last Man To Beat Conor McGregor" Duffy, which seems to be his unofficial nickname.

His opponent on Saturday desperately needs a win.

Jake "The Librarian" Lindsey is currently 0-2 in the UFC after previously having a 9-0 record in professional MMA. He desperately needs to beat Duffy, or it could be the last time he gets a chance in the UFC. Could this make him more dangerous?

He loves a bit of hip-hop, but his walk-out music is as patriotic as they come.

Move over Trick Daddy, we're going back to our roots.

He occasionally fights with a Shamrock shaved into his hair.

There he is laying the smack down on Julien Boussuge in his last fight, lets see if he sports something similar in Dallas.

He's the heavy favourite with the bookies for Saturday night.

Sky Bet and Paddy Power currently have him listed at 1/6. Hardly great value at that price.

Did you know he's beaten Conor McGregor before?

You did? Wow. Just in case you haven't seen it, here is all 38 seconds of it. Not just a boxer, you see.
