]I lived in Lahinch for a few months in 2004. I'll never forget the strung-out, downright junkie look on the faces of two surfers in the pub one Sunday in October after the weather had turned. They'd spent a few hours in the Atlantic. This dude, Bill Laity, surfed for 26 hours in a row in California in November. His face was crazier. His reaction after breaking the world record for the longest surfing session was typical. "I'm stoked."
