I don't know about you, but we feel extremely fortunate to be walking and talking and functionally human on this day, the official end of the Christmas break. It's a bit of a miracle, a bit like this feat of sporting insanity, perhaps the craziest upset of our lifetimes: Buster Douglas KO'ing an undefeated Mike Tyson in Tokyo in 1990.

The psycho Tyson that emerged in the years after this fight has taken the gloss off of what was a titanic upset. I'd completely forgotten that Tyson actually had knocked Douglas down and would have KO'd him had not the bell at the end of the 7th rang. The look of utter disbelief on the faces of Team Douglas and Larry Merchant's Cinderella line are priceless.
