Belfast Rugby Club Apologise For 'Inappropriate Photograph'

Belfast rugby club Malone RFC have apologised for an inappropriate photograph that is circulating in the aftermath of Malone's McCrea Cup win against Cooke Rugby Club on Easter Monday. The picture in question shows two men with the McCrea Cup between their crotches and cards on their chest which read 'Paddy Jackson' and 'Stuart Olding'.

Jackson and Olding were found not guilty in the Belfast rape trial last month.

According to the BBC Ulster Rugby have been in contact with representatives from Malone RFC, who have advised that they are carrying out a full investigation. A statement from Malone rugby club says 'It has been brought to our attention that an inappropriate photograph involving Malone players has been posted on a private social media site. Malone was unaware of the photograph and will investigate how it occurred.'

They continue 'The Club apologises for any offence caused by the contents of the photograph.'
