Obviously the Irish and Welsh fans were glued to the fortunes of their own teams last night but for fans in England, they enjoyed the choice of watching either match and it would seem many inexplicably chose to watch Wales v Moldova. And undoubtedly the biggest talking point was the performance of one Ben Woodburn.

Given the quality of the game in Georgia on Saturday, you could forgive them for choosing events in Chișinău I suppose, but funnily enough, among those who ended up seeing some of last night's Ireland game was Welshman, Robbie Savage. His assessment? Damning of Eamon Dunphy.

Elsewhere, Matt Le Tissier was singing off the same hymn sheet as Richie Sadlier, as he wondered why Ireland's delivery was poor, while former Soccer AM presenter Max Rushden felt every bit annoyed as us with the Serbian players' antics towards the end of the game.

However, the main talking point in both Wales and England was the performance of new Lord and Saviour, Ben Woodburn, as he helped the Welsh overcome a Moldovan side they had struggled to break down.

The Liverpool youngster didn't manage to get on the scoresheet again but he did bring new life to their attacked and set up Wales' opening goal, 20 minutes after being introduced.

The Welsh fans already have a chant for their new hero, which of course has been jumped on already by everyone in Liverpool.

Chants aside, it seems Ireland will have to be wary of the new threat posed by the youngster, if we are to get a result in Cardiff next month.
