Conal Keaney tweeted earlier today that three medals had been stolen from his car. He appealed for the thief to return them.

The medals are those won during Ballyboden's glorious 2015-16 campaign. They won the Dublin county championship, the Leinster championship and then the All-Ireland club in March last year.

He told Game On on 2FM that he was bringing them back to his mother's house. He had parked the car on the Firhouse Road near Ballyboden.

The thief punched the driver's window and stole the medals from the glove compartment along with some other items.

Keaney said he doesn't hold out too much hope of recovering the medals but said he'd be happy if the thief just dropped them in anonymously to a garda station.

Chances are that the guys wouldn’t have a clue what those medals are,” he said.

They are probably not worth a whole lot financially, but sentimental wise, they are huge. I worked so hard to try and get them.

I don’t even want to know who they are, just throw them anonymously into a garda station and they will get back to me eventually.
