Brian O'Driscoll has called for Irish head coach Joe Schmidt to start Ulster's rising star Jacob Stockdale for Ireland's upcoming November Internationals against South Africa, Fiji and Argentina.
The winger has been in electric form for Ulster so far this season, scoring five tries in five matches, his most recent of which came in Ulster's 19-9 victory over two time European Champion's Wasps last Friday.
O'Driscoll believes there is a strong case to start with the youngster for the upcoming Tests. Andrew Trimble was left out of Ulster's squad last weekend while Tommy Bowe was named on the bench.
The Irish legend was speaking from his old school Blackrock College last night for a Facebook live segment on BT Sport,
I think he has played himself into form, I think if you are picking players on form, I think a big statement from Ulster was that Andrew Trimble couldn't make into the match day 23, Tommy Bowe was on the bench.
So if you look at the in form wingers in Ireland at the moment, Keith Earls at the moment on recent performances, and definitely Jacob Stockdale. I hope Joe Schmidt does exactly that and picks the guys that are really showing in the early part of the season.
The winger had been earmarked from an early age by the province, in 2014 he was awarded Ulster Schools Player of the Year, before going on to represent Ireland at U20 level in 2015 and 2016, scoring seven tries during that period.
Schmidt will have no hesitation in putting faith in the 21 year old having capped him twice already during the summer against the United States and Japan.
