Liverpool have confirmed their 23-man squad for the Club World Cup in Qatar.

One of the notable omissions - especially from an Irish perspective - is goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher. The keepers included in the squad are Allison, Adrian and Andy Lonergan.

Liverpool play Aston Villa in the League Cup quarter-final on December 17th, one day before their opening game of the Club World Cup.

A team managed by Liverpool U23s coach Neil Critchley will play in that domestic tie. It's likely that Kelleher - as he was done so far this season - will start for Liverpool in the League Cup game.

The Corkman was named between the sticks as Liverpool beat both MK Dons and Arsenal in the competition this season.

Joel Matip and Fabinho have not been included in the group which travels to Qatar as they are both recovering from injuries.
