One of the abiding moments of recent Irish sports memory was the shot of a thronged O'Connell St in Limerick in the middle of the 2006 Heineken Cup Final between Munster and Biarritz. The Munster players said the sight of their own support on the big screen in Cardiff helped carry them on. The Dallas Mavericks tried to create a similar spirit the other night during their NBA Finals game in Miami. Since downtown Dallas has no discernible public space, the Mavs brought into their own arena and showed the game on the big screen. Here, watch the final frenzied minutes of the game from a packed stadium watching a game on a big TV. There's a weird moment around 2.28 when the fans see themselves on TV. I'm surprised the place didn't disappear into a worm hole.
