Darnell Dockett is a colourful soul. A defensive lineman with the Arizona Cardinals, he has promised to bring a friend along with him to their training camp this year. A friend he calls 'Little Buddy.'

Yes Little Buddy's no ordinary friend; he's Dockett's new pet tiger.

Usually I'd just buy a dog but Dockett has always been a man who enjoys putting himself out there. He also tried to buy a pet monkey but unfortunately his bid was turned down.

Dockett was less than pleased with his failure to obtain the monkey, telling Fox Sports, 'The dude would not sell it. I offered him a price that the only other person who would offer him that much is probably Michael Jackson, rest in peace, but he wouldn’t even entertain my offer when it came to the monkey.'

Apparently he big plans for the Marcel from Friends look-a-like.

'Could you picture that on game days? I’m coming to the game, I have my monkey with me, he has my jersey on ... Think about it. After the game, the fans see me with the monkey, ticket sales go up, Dockett jersey sales go up. Why? Because they all want to see me with the monkey.'

Shame he didn't get the monkey but I suppose when you have a tiger to look after, spare time may already be of the essence. On a side note, some of you may remember Dockett from the time he tried it on with Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron's girlfriend.
