President of the Collingwood AFL team, Eddie McGuire, has apologised for comments which he made about indigenous AFL player, Adam Goodes, on a Melbourne radio station.

While talking about a new King Kong musical, McGuire suggested that Adam Goodes would be a good person to promote the new show. One of the other presenters of the show, Luke Darcy, was audibly uncomfortable with the conversation but McGuire continued with it anyway.

Goodes, who plays for Sydney Swans, was subject to racial abuse just last week during a game against Collingwood. A young female fan was removed from the stadium because of remarks directed at Goodes.

McGuire will now undergo the AFL's Racial and Religious Vilification process.
