On his second run in the skeleton at the Winter Olympics, Ireland's Sean Greenwood had a spectacular crash but somehow managed to get back on his sled and finish the race.

Greenwood was in 21st after the first heat but his disastrous second run meant that he finished last of all the competitors.

The BBC commentary was some of the most patronising ever heard. They made Greenwood sound like some gombeen who had rocked up to the Winter Olympics having trained in the Wicklow mountains using his mother's baking tray and then hitch hiked to Sochi. It's not as if he was ranked 29th in the world going into the competition, BBC. They did, thankfully, stop short of speculating if he had been drinking the night before.

Anyway, the man from Vancouver with the Irish mother did have some decent support.
