Being a commentator is tough work. In most sports there are few moments of real action, the majority of your time is actually spent repeating descriptions of very similar events that are recurring constantly. In hockey, that event is passing. There is a lot of passing in hockey. So veteran commentator Doc Emrick goes through a fair whack of euphemisms for passing in one game. During Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals he used everything from 'knifed it' to 'forked it' and one fan, for some unknow reason, decided to record every single one.
