Luis Suarez will go down as one of the all-time greats at Barcelona, but his time at the club came to a somewhat acrimonious end this week. It is clear that he was all but forced out of the Camp Nou.

It's not all that difficult to see why Barcelona would want to offload the Uruguayan. He is now 33-years old and has had his fair share of injury troubles in the last couple of seasons. His huge wages were probably the main reason for their eagerness to move him on, with the player thought to be on over £300,000 per-week.

Suarez's move to Atletico Madrid has now been confirmed, a club that seems like an ideal fit. He certainly has the type of battling personality that will go down a treat with Diego Simeone.

It seems like a match made in heaven, with Suarez already giving the club advice on how they can bolster their squad.

According to AS, Luis Suarez has asked Atletico Madrid to sign Arsenal's Lucas Torreira during the current transfer window.

Suarez knows the midfielder well, having been teammates on the Uruguayan national team for a numbr of years. Arsenal are believed to be open to selling Torreira, with the Premier League side reportedly seeking a fee of around €24million for the 24-year old.

Luis Suarez has been Atletico's only real signing of note this window, with the permanent arrival of loan player Yannick Carrasco the only other player to arrive. They have also loaned Alvaro Morata to Juventus.

Arsenal are already on the hunt for potential replacements for Torreira, with rumours emerging today that they could make a shock move Chelsea midfielder Jorginho. It has also been speculated that they could look to Ateltico midfielder Thomas Partey, who has a £45million release clause in his contract.
