Michael O'Leary has a long-standing habit of 'subtly' ingratiating himself with whatever market he is targeting. He dressed up as the Pope when advertising in Rome. He waved placards around saying 'Ulster says No to low fares' when in Belfast.

Well, today he purchased 200 new Boeing aircraft, a company founded in Seattle and so O'Leary turned up in a Seahawks jersey. Evidently Earl Thomas is his favourite player.

When asked about Scottish independence, he praised the wisdom of the Irish electorate, informing the Bloomberg presenters that 'we generally elect idiots.'
