Of the 736 players who have made it into their relevant World Cup squads, most are either in the air en route or poolside enjoying some bonding with their teammates. You'd have to forgive these guys for scheduling some downtime before the real action begins, after all they have gone through long hard seasons and now face another four weeks if they are lucky.

Mark Schwarzer in particular, had a very long season, ending with heartbreak at the hands of Diego Forlan, but the Aussie keeper is still training hard and playing hard..




The English team are there already in a nice 5-star but surely Shaun Wright-Phillips didn't need much sleep after the long flight, having come prepared.. Good man SWP

In other news Kim Myong-Won, the North Korean striker looks set to have a quiet World Cup having been named as the 3rd goalkeeper in the NK squad. Fifa ruled earlier that when a player is named as a goalkeeper can only play in that position. Around North Korea, scream of "Damn You Hans Bwix" are said to have been overheard, Balls.ie cannot verify this as our South-East Asian reporter Mohammed Dike was thrown out of the North Korean capital late last week.
